Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role


Reporting to the Group Business Manager within our People and Operations Group you’ll be responsible for working across our corporate divisions to ensure our administrative processes are joined up and simple to follow. This supports our administrative team to deliver consistent, responsive, and proactive support on the day-to-day running of the Group’s operations.  


With a focus on helping us make sure that our administrative information is kept current and fit for purpose and that staff are enabled to ‘do it once, do it right’, your time will be split between proactively driving our administrative cycles, leading initiatives to improve our business administration processes and providing guidance, support and mentoring our team of five Team Administrators.

The appointment range for this role is $62,607 - $69,563 per annum total remuneration which includes our employer contribution to your Kiwisaver.

We’re looking for someone who gets a buzz out of helping others develop and watching them succeed. You’ll need a strong understanding of administrative best-practice and you will need to be the type of person who proactively takes ownership of the work programme, is focused on the user experience and is good at connecting the dots across the business to achieve results.


We think this is a great role for someone looking to further their career. While the role doesn’t have any line management responsibilities it provides opportunities to further develop your people leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills. We’ll provide training in continuous improvement, business process design, and practical project management tools and techniques.  We’re looking for someone with a demonstrated aptitude in problem solving, who is solutions-focused and has the skills to engage with people in a respectful mentoring capacity as well as an ability to form relationships across the business to influence and quickly get up to speed with how the organisation functions.

  • Experience with business administration skills management
  • Experience with process management and improvement
  • Ability to understand new business systems and technology
  • Ability to coach others to help them develop and succeed

This is not a Foreign Policy/diplomatic role.  This is a ‘Corporate’ role (known here as a Specialist role) based in central Wellington, NZ.  


While it is not usual for specialist staff to be ‘posted’ outside of NZ, from time to time a specialist role overseas becomes available at one of our embassies, high commissions, missions or consulates.
