The New Zealand Consulate-General is seeking an Administration Manager to be responsible for the successful administration of the Consulate in Honolulu, HI

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

 

The Administration Manager is a critically important position at the Consulate, responsible for the management of the office by overseeing administration staff and the effective and efficient running of Human Resources, Finance, Property, Procurement, and Consular services in order that the strategic priorities of the Consulate can be achieved. 

 

This position maintains and enhances the effective running of the Consulate through its management of others, analysis of information and situations, problem identification and implementation of effective solutions.

 

The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must have the right to work in the United States.  Obtaining and maintaining the appropriate working visa is the responsibility of the applicant and any offer of employment is subject to this.  If applicable, relocation to Honolulu is to be undertaken at the expense of the applicant.

 

The starting salary for this position is likely to be offered at around USD$70,000 per annum, and is subject to relevant experience.

We seek someone who has:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in delivering through others, directly managing and leading staff, including mentoring and developing staff potential
  • Significant experience running the administration of a high-tempo office
  • Ability to lead a team autonomously within policies and procedures, identify problems and solutions, and demonstrate sound judgement
  • Experience in HR that includes recruiting, hiring, and training
  • Experience in financial management, to include budgeting and accounts payable and receivable
  • Experience in property management
  • Experience in managing sensitive material with a high degree of tact and integrity, and working with a wide range of people across cultural and social backgrounds
